When you arrive in London you will roll into one of the major stations; either Waterloo or Euston. The station is pretty much within London so you shouldn’t have much of an issue getting around the city using public transport. However, to rely on public transport is something that should only be done as a very last resort as it is so hit and miss at times. The tube train line that you are trying to use will undoubtedly have maintenance work being done on it during the few days you’re there and there will almost certainly be an accident on the bus route that you are trying to use; it is the way of the London transport system – when you have a limited time in the city it will conspire to make you late for everything and prevent you from seeing everything you want to.
In any case, all of this can be avoided if you decide to hire a car from the station. If there is an accident on the road ahead, because you aren’t bound to a specific route you can adapt and go down different roads to go around it. You are completely in control of your journey and all decisions about where you go are down to you. Of course you will have to pay the congestion charge but if you consider the money that you are saving on transport fares it makes it seem much more worthwhile. Plus the fact that you can drive almost to the door of all the attractions, hiring a car is by far the better option!

Everybody has heard of Euston station, whether you have seen it on the news, used its service or just played a game of Monopoly! It is one of the most used stations in London (ranking as sixth overall) and is the main access point into London for people coming in from the Western half of the country (particularly the North West and West Midlands). As such, it is important that people who drive to the station have somewhere to leave their car – they can then catch a train to wherever they so desire without worrying about their car.
The cost of parking is incredibly fair in the Euston station car park. If you are staying for just an hour then it is likely to cost you around £6. This may sound like a lot of money but it works out that, the longer you stay, the less you pay. Once it gets to 24 hours the price is only £22 which works out at less than £1 per hour. On Saturday and Sunday even this price decreases to £10 which is an incredibly fair charge for people who perhaps want a short break at the weekend. Even if you are looking to visit the shops quickly that are close by the station, you will not be charged – a 20 minute stay at the weekend is completely free. There is, therefore, absolutely no reason why anyone would choose not to park at the station, particularly when the price is so reasonable.
